Advisor to Prime Minister on Textile Mirza Ikhtiar Baig has said Karachi is the economic and Industrial hub of our country and the government is taking measures to overcome problem of load-shedding in the city. Talking to a private news channel on Friday, he said that the federal cabinet has approved installation of 14 rental power projects after extensive deliberation and involving ADB for feasibility reports of the projects.

He said that the government is also constructing five dams in each province of the country besides using caol deposits under long-term strategy as hydle power is not only less expensive but it has also positive impacts on the environment. He said that the government has also decided to import LNG from Qatar to meet the energy requirement of the country.
